Girls on Film is a series of fashion focused editorials that are intended to embody my female experience, as well as illuminate my vision as a female photographer. The purpose of this collection is to stand in opposition to the deeply rooted male gaze that exists within the fashion photography industry. Throughout my life, my relationships with my girl friends have allowed me to form a tight bond with my own existence as a woman, and have instilled an empathy for the girls I see all around me. I strive to encapsulate the intimate, magical moments that I experience with my female subjects, as these portrayals are often exclude and misrepresented in media. This body of work is driven by the nostalgia for my girlhood and the relentless longing to capture authentic moments in fashion.
